Hey There
Welcome to Mountain Mama Family Farm! The dream to start a farm came from our desire to grow our own food and to save farmland in Berkeley County, West Virginia. We are starting small with micro greens but can't wait to expand our farm and provide more locally grown products to our neighbors!
About Us
We are Daniel, Brittany, Cora, and Eli Henderson!
Daniel and Brittany Henderson both grew up in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Daniel's family has long roots in Mineral and Hampshire Counties, where he grew up spending time on his grandparents' farm. Brittany's family moved to Berkeley County when she was a baby, dreaming of having space to raise a few animals and have a big garden. In 2015, the couple met and fell in love! They started their life together in Berkeley County and married in 2017. Brittany and Daniel welcomed their first child, Cora, in 2018. A few years later, their son Eli joined the family in 2022. The family is now somewhat patiently awaiting the arrival of their youngest daughter, Alice, in September.
If you have purchased anything from Mountain Mama Family Farm, you will notice Braille on our labels. Life is full of surprises, and Cora's birth brought many. Shortly after birth, she was transferred to the NICU over some concerning symptoms. Numerous days later, the doctors determined that there was something happening with her eyes. Genetic testing revealed that Cora has a rare disorder called Knobloch Syndrome. As a result, Cora is legally blind. Her lack of full vision doesn't stop her from conquering the world and wanting to fully participate in Mountain Mama Family Farm. If you see her, make sure to compliment her on her Braille skills!
